The subsequent report of the Secretary-General was endorsed by the Security Council in its resolution 1814 (2008), emphasizing an integrated United Nations strategy in Somalia to align political, security and programmatic efforts, and an assessment of the capacity of the United Nations Political Office for Somalia to monitor and enhance the protection of human rights.
