SUPPLEMENT TO AN AGENDA FOR PEACE: POSITION PAPER OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNITED NATIONS
ملحق لخطة للسلام: ورقة موقف مقدمة من اﻷمين العام بمناسبة الاحتفـال بالذكــرى السنويــة الخمسيــن ﻹنشـاء اﻷمم المتحدة

In his “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace”, the Secretary-General has reminded us that:
ويذكرنا اﻷمين العام في " ملحق لخطة للسلام " بأن:

(c) The position paper of the Secretary-General, entitled " Supplement to an Agenda for Peace " ;A/50/60-S/1995/1.
)ج( وإلى ورقة الموقف المقدمة من اﻷمين العام بعنوان " ملحق لخطة للسلام " )٣(؛

Here we agree entirely with the Secretary-General when he states in the “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace” that
وهنا نتفق بالكامل مع اﻷمين العام عندما ذكر في " ملحق لخطة للسلام " :

In January 1995, the Secretary-General submitted a report entitled “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace: position paper of the Secretary-General on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations” (A/50/60-S/1995/1).
وفي كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٥، قدم اﻷمين العام تقريرا معنونا " ملحق لخطة للسلام: ورقة موقف مقدمة من اﻷمين العام بمناسبة الاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية الخمسين ﻹنشاء اﻷمم المتحدة " )A/50/60-S/1995/1(.

In 1995, the Secretary-General urged the international community to seriously address the problems of small arms and light weapons in his report entitled “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace” (A/50/60–S/1995/1).
في عام ١٩٩٥، حث اﻷمين العام على ضرورة تصدي المجتمع الدولي جديا لمشاكل اﻷسلحة الصغيرة واﻷسلحة الخفيفة، وذلك في تقريره المعنون " ملحق لخطة للسلام " )A/50/60-S/1995/1(.

It is entitled, “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace”.
وعنوان المشروع " ملحق لخطة للسلام " .

وفي كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٥، قدم اﻷمين العام تقريرا معنونا " ملحق لخطة للسلام: ورقة موقف مقدمة من اﻷمين العام بمناسبة الاحتفال بالذكرى السنوية الخمسين ﻹنشاء اﻷمم المتحدة " (A/50/60-S/1995/1).

As the Secretary-General’s “Supplement to an Agenda for Peace” makes clear, practical ways need to be found to address the dangers which may arise from the transfer of small arms and light weapons.
وكما يوضح اﻷمين العام في " ملحق لخطة للسلام " ، يتعين ايجاد طرق عملية للتصدي لﻷخطار التي قد تنشأ من جراء نقل اﻷسلحة الصغيرة واﻷسلحة الخفيفة.

In that regard, his delegation firmly intended to continue participating in the analysis of the Secretary-General's report " Supplement to an Agenda for Peace " .
وفي هذا الصدد، قال إن وفده يعتزم بحسم الاستمرار في المشاركة في تحليل تقرير اﻷمين العام " ملحق لخطة للسلام " .

I have the honour to refer to the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations and to document A/50/60-S/1995/1, entitled " Supplement to an Agenda for Peace " , particularly with regard to preventive diplomacy and peacemaking.
يشرفني أن أشير إلى اﻷحكام ذات الصلة من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة وإلى الوثيقة A/50/60 المعنونة " ملحق لخطة للسلام " . ولاسيما فيما يتصل بالدبلوماسية الوقائية وإقرار السلام.

We have also studied with interest the Secretary-General's recommendation, in his Supplement to “An Agenda for Peace”, that the United Nations should consider the idea of a rapid-deployment force.
وقد درسنا أيضا باهتمام توصية اﻷمين العام، الواردة في تقريره المعنون " ملحق لخطة للسلام " ، ومؤداها أن اﻷمم المتحدة ينبغي أن تنظر في فكرة إنشاء قوة للوزع السريع.
