Chapter IV of the Council of Europe Convention is devoted to international cooperation and cooperation with civil society.

These provisions are in conformity with article 7 of the European Convention on Nationality, adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 14 May 1997 and drafted in turn in a spirit of respect for and in consideration of the provisions of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and article 8 of the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness.
