The Ministerial Committee held its first meeting in Jeddah on 2 October 2005, where it was agreed to hold a Conference on Iraqi National Accord, with the agreement of the Government and political leaders, at the headquarters of the Arab League and requested the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States to visit Iraq as soon as possible in pursuit of the achievement of Iraqi national accord.

On that basis, my delegation would expect the Secretary-General to reformulate expected accomplishment 1.1 in a manner consistent with the mandate of Security Council resolutions 425 (1978) and 1701 (2006).
