Moreover, in the interests of efficiency, Canada does not support the introduction of this resolution year after year, given that the Assembly adopts a broadly supported resolution from the Fourth Committee on the same issue every year.

For all of those reasons, he urged the Department of Public Information to consider the question more carefully and not to pursue its recommendations on such crucial matters without a clear mandate from the Fourth Committee.
