I refer to the letter dated 15 September 1994 (S/1994/1063) from the Permanent Representatives of Argentina and New Zealand addressed to the President of the Security Council, containing a series of proposals for improving the consultation procedures that currently exist between the Secretary-General, troop-contributing countries and the members of the Security Council.

Against this background, we take a keen interest in the discussions in the Security Council on the letter dated 15 September 1994 from the Permanent Representatives of Argentina and New Zealand to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council and relating to a strengthening of the arrangements for consultations between troop-contributing countries, members of the Security Council and the Secretary-General (S/1994/1063).

The Security Council dealt with the item at its 3448th and 3449th meetings, held on 4 November 1994 in accordance with the understanding reached in its prior consultations, having before it the letter dated 15 September 1994 from the Permanent Representatives of Argentina and New Zealand to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council (S/1994/1063).
