I have the honour to forward herewith the text of a statement I delivered at the 692nd plenary meeting on 7 September 1994, concerning the text of paragraph 29 of the report of the Conference on Disarmament to the General Assembly.

It is with such a situation in view that operative paragraph 3 has been formulated. This paragraph was influenced by paragraph 54 of the report of the Conference on Disarmament, contained in document A/52/27, which notes that the Conference requested the current and incoming Presidents to conduct consultations during the inter-sessional period and make recommendations, if possible, that could help to commence early work on various agenda items.
وعلى أساسا هذا الوضع، صيغت الفقرة ٣ من المنطوق التي تستند إلى الفقرة ٥٤ من تقرير مؤتمر نزع السلاح الوارد في الوثيقة A/52/27، والتي تشير إلى أن المؤتمر طلب إلى الرئيس الحالي والرئيس التالي إجراء مشاورات أثناء فترة ما بين الدورتين، ووضع توصيات، إن أمكن، يمكن أن تساعد في بدء العمل بشأن مختلف بنود جدول اﻷعمال في وقت مبكر.
