On 30 August 2007, the Permanent Delegation of the United Arab Emirates enclosed a statement containing details of the assistance provided by the UAE and channelled through UNWRA to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. This is in addition to the assistance provided by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charity and Humanitarian Foundation to the Palestinian refugees in the Nahr el-Bared camp in Lebanon.
كما قامت المندوبية الدائمة لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة في 30/8/2007، بإرفاق بيان يتضمن المساعدات المقدمة من دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لتخفيف معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني عن طريق وكالة غوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (الأونروا) إضافة للمساعدات المقدمة من مؤسسة محمد بن راشد للأعمال الخيرية للاجئين الفلسطينيين في مخيم نهر البارد في لبنان.

With reference to your Note No. S/AC.40/2003/OC.230 dated 10 February 2003 regarding the request for further information on a number of preliminary comments/questions on the report submitted by the Government of the United Arab Emirates pursuant to paragraph 6 of Security Council resolution 1373 (2001), I have the honour to transmit herewith the follow-up report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (see enclosure).

On 6 June 2004, for example, Ibris Airline, an operator based in the United Arab Emirates operated a flight using an IL-18 aircraft that had been banned from transporting passengers out of the United Arab Emirates from Ryan airport (flight number UN75003) to Hargeisa, " Somaliland " , and from Hargeisa to Beledweyne, Somalia, and then back to Ryan airport.

- According to the statistics of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cairo, the Egyptian authorities have, with the assistance of the World Food Programme, facilitated the transit of 63 tons of non-food supplies and 1,000 tons of food supplies, 31 medical and food shipments comprising 631 tons of food and medical supplies from the United Arab Emirates, and humanitarian convoys from the Arab League and the Arab Doctors Union.

On instructions from my Government, I have the honour to inform you that the Israeli aggression against Lebanon which commenced on 12 July 2006 escalated seriously today, 18 July 2006. At 12.40 p.m., a humanitarian aid convoy travelling from the United Arab Emirates was bombarded by Israeli warplanes in the locality of Tell Chiha, close by the statue of the Virgin Mary, in the region of the Zahle hills.
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، أتشرف بإفادتكم بأن العدوان الإسرائيلي على لبنان الذي بدأ في 12 تموز/يوليه 2006، شهد تطورا خطيرا بتاريخ 18 تموز/يوليه 2006، إذ تعرضت عند الساعة الثانية عشرة والدقيقة الأربعين من بعد ظهر اليوم قافلة المساعدات القادمة إلى لبنان من دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لقصف من الطيران الحربي الإسرائيلي وذلك في محلة تل شيحا قرب تماثل السيدة العذراء في منطقة تلال زحلة.
