In conformity with the Charter of the United Nations, the rules of International Humanitarian Law and other rules of international law applicable to them, the High Contracting Parties agree to:
تتفق الأطراف المتعاقدة، طبقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغيرها من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، على ما يلي:

1. In conformity with the Charter of the United Nations, the rules of International Humanitarian Law and other rules of international law applicable to them, the High Contracting Parties agree to:
1- وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغير ذلك من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، توافق الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية على ما يلي:

1. In conformity with the Charter of the United Nations, the rules of International Humanitarian Law and other rules of international law applicable to them, the High Contracting Parties agree to:
1- توافق الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية، وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغير ذلك من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، على:

1. The High Contracting Parties will, in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and the rules of International Humanitarian Law and other rules of international law applicable to them, do their utmost to limit the use of cluster munitions.
1- ستبذل الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية، وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغيرها من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، قصارى جهدها لتحديد استخدام الذخائر العنقودية.

1. The High Contracting Parties will, in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and the rules of International Humanitarian Law and other rules of international law applicable to them, take all necessary measures to prevent and alleviate the human suffering caused by cluster munitions.
1- ستبذل الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية، وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغيرها من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، جميع التدابير اللازمة لتفادي المعاناة الإنسانية التي تتسبب فيها الذخائر العنقودية والتخفيف منها.

17. The study of the interpretation of treaties in the light of any relevant rules of international law applicable in the relations between parties (article 31, paragraph (3) (c), of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties) offered valuable insight into the fairly frequent recourse to that course of action by judicial bodies in recent years.
17 - وأضافت قائلة إن دراسة تفسير المعاهدات في ضوء أية قواعد ذات صلة من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة على العلاقات بين الأطراف (الفقرة 3 (ج) من المادة 31 من اتفاقية فيينا لقانون المعاهدات) توفر معرفة قيمة في مجال لجوء الهيئات القضائية المتكرر في السنوات الأخيرة إلى هذا الإجراء.

1- تتفق الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية، وفقاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة وقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وغير ذلك من قواعد القانون الدولي المنطبقة عليها، على الامتثال للالتزامات المنصوص عليها في هذا البروتوكول، منفردة وبالتعاون مع الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية الأخرى، من أجل التصدي للأثر الإنساني الذي تتسبب فيه الذخائر العنقودية.
