Egypt has also been calling for the establishment of a zone free from all weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East since the initiative of President Mubarak on 18 April 1990. The Security Council adopted this call in resolution 687 (1991).
كما تطالب مصر، منذ مبادرة الرئيس مبارك في ١٨ نيسان/أبريل من عام ١٩٩٠، بإنشاء منطقة خالية من كافة أسلحة الدمار الشامل في الشرق اﻷوسط، وهو ما اعتمده مجلس اﻷمن في قراره ٦٨٧ )١٩٩٠(.
