The Turkish daily newspaper Cumhuriyet dated 21 September 2006, reported that Mr. Ozan Ceyhun, former member of the European Parliament and the member of the German Social Democratic Party, was assaulted by eight Greek Cypriot youngsters in front of the Hilton Hotel situated at the Greek Cypriot part of Nicosia while traveling in a taxi carrying Turkish Cypriot number plates.

9. An incident of particular concern, reported on 22 November 2006 and mentioned in my latest report on the United Nations operations in Cyprus (S/2006/931), involved an attack by 1520 Greek Cypriot youths on a group of Turkish Cypriot students on the grounds of the English school, located on the Greek Cypriot side of Nicosia.
9- ووقع حادث مثير لبالغ القلق أبلغ عنه في 22 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2006 وأشير إليه في تقريري الأخير بشأن عملية الأمم المتحدة في قبرص (S/2006/931) وهو اعتداء ما بين 15 و20 شاباً قبرصياً يونانياً على مجموعة من الطلبة القبارصة الأتراك في ساحة المدرسة الإنكليزية الواقعة في الجزء القبرصي اليوناني من نيقوسيا.
