وذكرت أن أعضاء في نفس المنظمة كانوا مسؤولين عن قتل اﻷسقف كايك هوسبيان مهر، الذي ذُكر أنه خُطف ووجد بعد ذلك ميتاً بعد أن شن حملة ﻹطلاق سراح القسيس مهدي ديباج.

According to the judicial authorities in my country, Mr. Mehdi Dibaj has not been sentenced to death for his conversion to Christianity and his offence has not come to the level of death penalty according to the Penal Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
تفيد السلطات القضائية في بلدي أن السيد مهدي ديباج لم يحكم عليه باﻹعدام لتحوله إلى الدين المسيحي، ولا يعاقب جرمه بعقوبة اﻹعدام بموجب قانون العقوبات في جمهورية ايران الاسلامية.

In reference to your telex message concerning the case of Mr. Mehdi Dibaj and the allegations raised in the context of his death penalty, I have the honour to inform you of the following.
بالاشارة إلى رسالتكم بالتلكس بشأن حالة السيد مهدي ديباج والمزاعم المذكورة في سياق الحكم عليه بالاعدام، أتشرف بابلاغكم بما يلي.

In early July 1994 Reverend Mehdi Dibaj and Reverend Tatavous Michaelian were found dead.

The Special Rapporteur also received disturbing reports of persecution of leaders of different Christian churches in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the imposition of the death sentence for apostasy on Reverend Mehdi Dibaj, a church leader who had converted from Islam to Christianity 45 years ago.

On 15 August 1994, the Government provided the Special Rapporteur with a reply informing him that on the basis of documents and the declarations of a captured member of the Mojaheddin Khalgh Organization of Iran (MKO), it was established that Reverend Mehdi Dibaj and Reverend Mikhailian had been killed by agents of that organization.
٩٧١- في ٥١ آب/أغسطس ٤٩٩١، وافت الحكومة المقرر الخاص برد أبلغته فيه بأنه استناداً إلى الوثائق وإلى تصريحات عضو مقبوض عليه من منظمة مجاهدي خلق في ايران، ثبت أن القس مهدي ديباج والقس ميخائيليان قد قُتلا على أيدي أفراد يعملون لحساب تلك المنظمة.

In the light of the aforementioned provisions, I wish to express my deep concern regarding the sentence passed on Mr. Mehdi Dibaj, and I should be grateful if your Government would keep me informed of the measures to be taken to give effect to the aforementioned provisions. "
وعلى ضوء اﻷحكام المشار إليها أعلاه، أود أن أعرب عن قلقي الشديد بشأن الحكم الصادر بحق السيد مهدي ديباج وأكون ممتنا لحكومتكم لو تفضلت بإعلامي بالتدابير التي ستتخذ بغية تطبيق تلك اﻷحكام " .

In another urgent appeal, the Special Rapporteur urged the authorities to take all necessary steps to protect the lives and physical integrity of Hassan Shahjamali, reportedly abducted together with two other church leaders, including Beni Paul, after the dead bodies of Reverend Mehdi Dibaj and Reverend Mikhailian, Chairman of the Council of Protestant Churches in Iran, had been found (11 July 1994).
وفي نداء عاجل آخر، حث المقرر الخاص السلطات على اتخاذ جميع الخطوات الضرورية لحماية حياة حسن شاه جمالي وسلامته البدنية، الذي أُفيد أنه اختُطف مع اثنين آخرين من الزعماء الكنسيين بمن فيهم بني بول، بعد أن تم العثور على جثتي القس مهدي ديباج والقس ميخائيليان، رئيس مجلس الكنائس البروتستانتية في ايران )١١ تموز/يوليه ٤٩٩١(.
