The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia does not differentiate between men and women, but it rather speaks of the citizens of the RM, which leads to the conclusion that women have the same rights and obligations in relation to citizenship as men do.

The ending of the UNPREDEP mission is at the same time a major motive for me to express the sincere recognition of all the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, together with my personal acknowledgement, of the great contribution of the United Nations in preserving the peace and security in the Republic of Macedonia and in the surrounding areas in the course of its six-year presence.

Pursuant to article 9 under The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia, the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia are equal in their rights regardless of their gender, race, skin color, national and social background, political and religious beliefs, social and property status.

99. In 2011, the Law amending the Law on the Use of Languages spoken by at least 20% of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and in units of local self-government was adopted, which in fact expands the use of languages of the communities.
99- وفي 2011، اعتُمد القانون المعدِّل لقانون استخدام اللغات التي يتحدث بها ما لا يقل عن 20 في المائة من مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا وفي وحدات الحكومة المحلية، ويوسع هذا القانون من استخدام لغات المجتمعات المحلية.

318. The fact that this domestic legal remedy has been assessed as effective by the European Court of Human Rights means that before applying to the Strasbourg Court with allegations for violation of the right to a trial within reasonable time, all citizens of the Republic of Macedonia will have to first use this domestic legal remedy.
318- ويعني تقييم المحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان هذه الوسيلة القانونية المحلية بأنها فعالة أنه سيتعيَّن على كل مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا قبل التقدم إلى محكمة ستراسبورغ بادعاءات بشأن انتهاك الحق في المحاكمة خلال مدة زمنية معقولة اللجوء أولاً إلى هذه الوسيلة القانونية المحلية.

Undoubtedly, the fundamental principle of the mentioned constitutional system is the principle of equality, i.e. non-discrimination, in compliance with which Article 9 of the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia stipulates that " the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia are equal in their freedoms and rights, irrespective of the gender, race, skin color, national or social origin and religious belief, property and social status.
مما لا شك فيه أن المبدأ الأساسي للنظام الدستوري المذكور هو مبدأ المساواة أي عدم التمييز،وتمشيا مع هذا المبدأ تنص المادة 9 من دستور جمهورية مقدونيا على أن " مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا متساوون فيما يتعلق بحرياتهم وحقوقهم، بصرف النظر عن الجنس أو العرق أو اللون، أو الأصل الوطني أو الاجتماعي أو الدين، أو الممتلكات والمركز الاجتماعي.

The Law on higher education (Official Gazette of the RM, no. 64/200), through a separate article (Article 2), along with the Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education (Official Gazette of the RM, no. 49/2003), regulates the right of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia to education at higher education institutions, under equal terms, which presumes equitable access to the higher education for both the male and female population.
وينظم قانون التعليم العالي (الجريدة الرسمية لجمهورية مقدونيا،العدد رقم 64/2000) في مادة مستقلة منه (المادة 2) وكذلك قانون التعديلات على قانون التعليم العالي (الجريدة الرسمية لجمهورية مقدونيا العدد رقم 49/2003) حق مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا في التعليم في المؤسسات التعليمية العليا على أساس المساواة، مما يفترض معه وصول كل من السكان الذكور والإناث على قدم المساواة الى التعليم العالي.

It becomes clear from above that the constitutional determinations for equality of the citizens of the RM in relation to citizenship are accepted and specified in the Law on the Citizenship of the Republic of Macedonia.
ويتضح مما ذكر آنفا أن التعريف الدستوري للمساواة بين مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا في ما يتعلق بالجنسية يلقى قبولا ويحدده قانون جنسية جمهورية مقدونيا.

The RM citizenship is also conferred on an adopted child in case of full adoption, where both or one of the adoptive parents are citizens of the RM " .
وتمنح جنسية جمهورية مقدونيا أيضا للطفل بالتبني في حالة التبني الكامل، إذا كان كلا الأبوين المتبنيين أو أحدهما من مواطني جمهورية مقدونيا " .

35. Citizenship may not be taken away from any citizen of the Republic of Macedonia nor may he/she be expelled or extradited to another country.
