ولئن كنا نحن الذين نتشرف بتمثيل حكوماتنا نتمتع بترف اﻹعلان عن السياسات الدولية، فإن اﻷمين العام لا يحظى بهذا الترف.

It is now up to us, the Members of the United Nations, to provide the answers, for it is we who will live with the consequences.
واﻵن، تقع علينا، نحن اﻷعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة، مسؤولية توفير الحلول لها، ﻷننا نحن الذين سنتعرض ﻵثارها.

we who govern our respective countries bear a heavy responsibility.
وهناك مسؤولية كبيرة تقع على عاتقنا نحن الذين نتولى الحكم في بلداننا.

But those of us who work in the long term cannot bow to the rules that govern the world of the media.
ولكننا نحن الذين نعمل في المدى البعيد لا نستطيع الانصياغ للقوانين التي تحكم عالم اﻹعلام.

We're the ones who put the pressure on them to not be weird.
نحن الذين ضغطنـا عليهم كي لا يتصرفوا بغرابة

We're the ones that have to deal with them for the rest of their lives.
نعم نحن الذين علينا أن نتعامل معهم لبقية حياتهم

But We are the ones who have been chosen to do this, and I think that there's a certain nobility in that.
ولكن نحن الذين الذين تم اختيارهم للقيام بذلك أعتقد انه شيء نبيل ان تفعله

وبينما نستطيع، نحن الذين نعيش في الجزر، بل ويجب علينا، أن نفعل المزيد لكبح الممارسات غير المستدامة، من الواضح أننا أسهمنا إسهاما ضئيلا في إحداث أزمة المناخ وأنه لا يمكننا الإسهام بالكثير في حلها.

we who are here before you today, we are the survivors of that struggle.
أما نحن الذين نقف أمامكم اليوم، فقد خرجنا بسلام من تلك المعركة.

we who are the representatives of the peoples of the United Nations must become a promise of hope and change.
نحن الذين نمثِّل شعوب الأمم المتحدة يجب أن نصبح وعدا يبشر بالأمل والتغيير.

we who believe in the policies of moderation, accommodation and tolerance must unite against this new threat of violence and terror.
وعلينا نحن الذين نؤمن بسياسات الاعتدال، والتوفيق، والتسامح أن نقف صفا واحدا ضد هذا التهديد الجديد للعنف واﻹرهاب.

We have done so in the knowledge that ultimately it is we who must take the bull by the horns.
ولقد فعلنا ذلك ونحن نعلم أننا نحن الذين يتعين علينا في نهاية المطاف أن نتصدى بجسارة لمشاكلنا.
