وأخيرا، فلنصل لله القادر أن يكلل بالنجاح مساعينا المشتركة كيما نرى اﻷمم المتحدة منظمة عالمية أكثر عدلا وشعلة أمل لﻷسرة العالمية.

This exceptional privilege affords me a timely opportunity to deliver, on behalf of the Republic of Mali, its people and its President, His Excellency Alpha Oumar Konaré, our Head of State, a message of hope: to see the United Nations live up to the desire of twenty-first century man to live in peace and security, in social justice and human dignity.

واليوم أكثر من أي وقت مضى، لدينا من اﻷسباب ما يجعلنا نرى اﻷمم المتحدة أداة قوية تملك القدرة على صون السلم واﻷمن الدوليين وتوطيد العدالة وحقوق اﻹنسان، وعلى أن تضمن، كما يقول ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة، " أن ندفع بالرقي الاجتماعي قدما، وأن نرفع مستوى الحياة في جو من الحرية أفسح " .
