The indefinite suspension of the Al-Rai Al-Akhar newspaper on 16 September 1999 was brought to the Special Rapporteur's attention.

16. The Special Rapporteur's attention has been drawn to the retrial of Mirko Graorac, an ethnic Serb, in the Split County Court.

It was also brought to the Special Rapporteur's attention that on 26 March 1996 Bahrain carried out its first execution of a death sentence in almost 20 years. The previous execution reportedly took place in March 1977.

52. The Special Rapporteur's attention has been drawn to the interview of a 19-year-old educated Rohingya woman who complained that " the major problem is rape.

The Government could thus take advantage of their competence in these two fields which, in the Special Rapporteur's view, merit particular attention.
