2. Acts constituting a crime against humanity when committed as part of a widespread and systematic attack against a civilian population are the following:
٢ - تشكل اﻷفعال التالية جريمة ضد اﻹنسانية عندما ترتكب كجزء من هجوم واسع النطاق أو منتظم ضد سكان مدنيين:

In May 1993, in a report to the Security Council, the Secretary-General stated that rape, committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against any civilian population, was a crime against humanity.
وفي أيار/مايو ٣٩٩١، ذكر اﻷمين العام، في تقرير قدمه إلى مجلس اﻷمن، أن الاغتصاب، الذي يُرتكب كجزء من اعتداء واسع النطاق أو منتظم على أي سكان مدنيين، هو في عِداد الجرائم المناهضة لﻹنسانية)٨٢(.

" Crimes against humanity refer to inhumane acts of a very serious nature, such as wilful killing, torture or rape, committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against any civilian population on national, political, ethnic, racial or religious grounds.

76. Trials before the Tribunal will involve charges of crimes against humanity such as wilful killing, torture or rape, committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against the civilian population on ethnic, national, political, racial or religious grounds (see art. 5 of the statute and para. 48 of the Secretary-General's report (S/25704)).
