37. The Chairman said that both the Model Law on Electronic Commerce and the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency contained provisions enabling the text to be applied to both domestic and international cases.

223. At its session in 2001, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law adopted two major texts, the draft Convention on Assignment of Receivables in International Trade and the Model Law on Electronic Signatures.

The UNODC Legislative Guide, the Model Law on Firearms and the UNODC Model Legislative Provisions Against Organized Crime, along with similar tools developed under other instruments, can assist lawmakers in understanding the legislative requirements of the Protocol and their implications in terms of elaborating appropriate legislation.

A number of States reported on recent activity to enact UNCITRAL insolvency texts into national law, specifically part three of the Legislative Guide on Insolvency Law and the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency, including both legislation that had entered into force and proposed legislation that was currently being drafted or considered.
وأبلغت دُوَلٌ عمَّا قامت به مؤخّراً في مجال إدراج نصوص الأونسيترال المتعلقة بالإعسار في قوانينها الوطنية، وخصوصاً الجزء الثالث من الدليل التشريعي لقانون الإعسار والقانون النموذجي بشأن الإعسار عبر الحدود، بما في ذلك التشريعات التي دخلت فعلاً حيّز النفاذ والتشريعات المقترحة التي يجري حالياً صوغها أو النظر فيها.

Other achievements of the Sixth Committee include the adoption of the draft Convention on Assignment of Receivables in International Trade, and the draft Model Law on Electronic Signatures, adopted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law at its thirty-fourth session.

The work of UNCITRAL in the preparation of the Model Law on Electronic Commerce (1996) and the Model Law on Electronic Signatures (2001) aimed at providing guidelines to enacting States was highlighted.

Mr. Qu Wensheng (China) said that UNCITRAL had played an active role in harmonizing and promoting international trade law, as reflected in the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency, the Model Law on Electronic Commerce, the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards, the Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the draft convention on assignment in receivables financing.
