the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, which had been held in Durban in 2001, and particularly the adoption of the Durban Programme of Action, had been an important step in the international community's fight against intolerance and racial hatred.
والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، الذي انعقد بديربان في عام 2001، يشكل مرحلة هامة في ميدان الكفاح المشترك ضد عدم التسامح والبغض العنصري، كما أن اعتماد برنامج عمل هذا المؤتمر جدير بالترحيب.

Secondly, the priorities of United Nations information activities must be defined in the light of the issues before the United Nations system as a whole, with special focus on areas such as economic, social and cultural development, poverty eradication, human rights, peacekeeping operations, drug control, the threat of international terrorism and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

The campaign was part of the preparations for the Council of Europe's Conference against Racism, which took place from 11 to 13 October 2000 in Strasbourg, and the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held from 31 August to 7 September 2001 in Durban.
وكانت الحملة جزءاً من الإعداد لمؤتمر مكافحة العنصرية الذي نظمه مجلس أوروبا والذي عُقد من 11 إلى 13 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2000 في مدينة ستراسبورغ، والمؤتمر العالمي لمكافحة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب الذي عقد من 31 آب/أغسطس إلى 7 أيلول/سبتمبر 2001 في ديربان.
