Notes with deep concern that invasive alien species, such as Pterois miles and P. volitans, known as lionfish, constitute an emerging threat to biodiversity in the wider Caribbean region, and urges the United Nations system and the international community to continue to provide assistance and support in addressing this issue in the region;

Expresses its appreciation to the relevant United Nations bodies, in particular the United Nations Environment Programme and the secretariat for the Basel Convention, for the support extended to the Special Rapporteur and urges them and the international community to continue to give him the necessary support to enable him to discharge his mandate;
8- تعرب عن تقديرها لهيئات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، ولا سيما برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة، وأمانة اتفاقية بازل، للدعم المقدم إلى المقرر الخاص، وتحثها هي والمجتمع الدولي على مواصلة تقديم الدعم اللازم له لتمكينه من الوفاء بولايته؛

In its resolution 59/230, the General Assembly also urged the United Nations system and the international community to continue to assist the countries of the Caribbean region in the implementation of their long-term programmes of disaster prevention, preparedness, mitigation, management, relief and recovery.
وفي القرار 59/230، حثت الجمعية العامة أيضا منظومة الأمم المتحدة والمجتمع الدولي على مواصلة تقديم المساعدة لبلدان منطقة البحر الكاريبي في تنفيذ برامجها الطويلة الأمد في مجالات اتقاء الكوارث، والتأهب لها، والتخفيف من أثرها، وإدارتها، والإغاثة والانتعاش منها.
