In this respect, support to the Special Rapporteur on the situation of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of indigenous people will be enhanced, including through followup to the recommendations of his country reports, and cooperation with the Working Group on Indigenous Populations and the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues will be strengthened so that these important bodies can fulfil their respective mandates.

Indigenous peoples have also gained attention to their issues in development, as evidenced in part by the fact that several international development agencies have policies on indigenous peoples; dialogues on development between the United Nations agencies and the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues have also been helping to establish good practice.
وتمكنت الشعوب الأصلية أيضاً من لفت الانتباه إلى قضاياها على صعيد التنمية، مثلما يتبين جزئياً من وجود سياسات معنية بالشعوب الأصلية لدى العديد من الوكالات الإنمائية الدولية؛ كما تساعد الحوارات التي تُعقد بشأن التنمية بين وكالات الأمم المتحدة والمحفل الدائم المعني بقضايا الشعوب الأصلية على إرساء الممارسات الجيدة.

Participate actively in international and regional meetings on indigenous peoples and minorities, including the United Nations Working Group on Minorities and Working Group on Indigenous Populations, the working group established to elaborate a draft declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples and the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues established by Economic and Social Council resolution 2000/22.
