States have an obligation to ensure equal access of men and women to the enjoyment of all rights, including by ensuring equality and non-discrimination in areas such as political rights, marriage and family, employment and health.
والدول ملزمة بضمان تكافؤ الفرص بين الرجل والمرأة في التمتع بجميع الحقوق، بطرق تشمل ضمان المساواة وعدم التمييز في مجالات مثل الحقوق السياسية، والزواج والأسرة، والعمل والصحة.

657. At its twenty-eighth session, on 13 May 2002, the Committee held a day of general discussion on the equal right of men and women to the enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights (art. 3 of the Covenant).

" The State shall promote the equal right of men and women to enjoy all economic, social, cultural, civil and political rights and for this purpose shall take appropriate measures to eliminate all forms of discrimination between the sexes by any person, organisation or enterprise: the State shall in particular aim at ensuring that women workers enjoy equal rights and the same wages for the same work as men. " 2
" الدولة ستنهض بالحق المتساوي للرجل والمرأة في التمتع بجميع الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية والمدنية والسياسية، ولهذا الغرض ستتخذ تدابير مناسبة للقضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز بين الجنسين من قِبل أي شخص أو منظمة أو مؤسسة: سترمي الدولة على نحو خاص إلى كفالة أن تتمتع النساء العاملات بالمساواة في الحقوق وبنفس الأجور عن نفس العمل الذي يقوم به الرجال " (2).
