The Assembly also called upon Member States to review immigration policies with a view to eliminating all discriminatory practices against migrants, protecting migrants against violent xenophobic acts, putting an end to arbitrary arrest and detention of migrants and ensuring full respect for and observance of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 as well as the other international human rights instruments to which they are party.

6. Reaffirms emphatically the duty of States parties to ensure full respect for and observance of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, particularly with regard to the right of foreign nationals, regardless of their immigration status, to communicate with a consular official of their own State in the case of detention, and the obligation of the State in whose territory the detention occurs to inform the foreign national of that right;
6- تؤكد من جديد وبشدة أن من واجب الدول الأطراف كفالة الاحترام الكامل والمراعاة التامة لاتفاقية فيينا بشأن العلاقات القنصلية، ولا سيما فيما يخص حق الرعايا الأجانب، بصرف النظر عن مركز هجرتهم، في الاتصال بمسؤول في قنصلية بلدانهم في حالة احتجازهم، والتزام الدولة التي يقع الاحتجاز في إقليمها بإبلاغ المواطن الأجنبي بحقه في القيام بذلك؛

53. The observer for Nigeria stated that conditions of peace and security and the full observance of the Charter of the United Nations alone might not be sufficient to guarantee the full protection of the rights of the child without taking into account the socio-economic environment of the child, in particular the unfavourable international economic environment militating against the well-being of the child.
٣٥- وذكر المراقب عن نيجيريا أن ظروف السلم واﻷمن والمراعاة التامة ﻷحكام ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة قد لا تكفي وحدها لضمان حماية حقوق الطفل حماية تامة دون وضع البيئة الاجتماعية - الاقتصادية للطفل في الاعتبار، لا سيما البيئة الاقتصادية الدولية غير المؤاتية التي تحدّ من رفاه الطفل.

56. We reaffirm the importance of strengthening solidarity and cooperation to prevent, combat and eradicate terrorism through an increased, sustained promotion of bilateral and multilateral measures, with full respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of each State and due observance of the provisions of relevant international instruments.
٦٥ - ونؤكد من جديد أهمية تعزيز التضامن والتعاون من أجل منع اﻹرهاب ومكافحته والقضاء عليه من خلال مزيد من التعزيز المستمر للتدابير الثنائية والمتعددة اﻷطراف، مع الاحترام التام لسيادة كل دولة وولايتها القضائية والمراعاة التامة لما نصت عليه الصكوك الدولية بشأن المسألة.

As we enter the new millennium, all States should be committed to shaping a better world, a world wherein all States, big or small, are equal, a world in which relations between States are based on mutual respect and strict observance of international law.
وينبغي للدول جمعاء، ونحن ندخل في ألفية جديدة، تهيئة عالم أفضل، عالم تتساوى فيه جميع الدول صغيرها وكبيرها، عالم تستند فيه العلاقات بين الدول إلى الاحترام المتبادل والمراعاة التامة للقانون الدولي.

3. In resolution 57/218, the General Assembly reaffirmed the responsibility of Governments to safeguard and protect the rights of migrants against illegal or violent acts, in particular acts of racial discrimination and crimes perpetrated with racist or xenophobic motivation, and reaffirmed emphatically the duty of States parties to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 19632 to ensure full respect for and observance of the Convention.
3 - وفي القرار 57/218، أكدت الجمعية العامة مجددا مسؤولية الحكومات عن ضمان وحماية حقوق المهاجرين من الأفعال غير المشروعة أو أعمال العنف، ولا سيما أفعال التمييز العنصري والجرائم المرتكبة بدافع عنصري أو بدافع كراهية الأجانب، وأكدت من جديد وبشدة أن من واجب الدول الأطراف في اتفاقية فيينا للعلاقات القنصلية لعام 1963() كفالة الاحترام الكامل والمراعاة التامة للاتفاقية.

12. The constitutional reforms set out in the Peace Agreements provide the fundamental substantive basis for the reconciliation of Guatemalan society within the framework of the rule of law, democratic coexistence and the full observance of and strict respect for human rights.
١٢ - والاصلاحات الدستورية الواردة في اتفاقات السلام تشكل قاعدة موضوعية وأساسية لتحقيق المصالحة في المجتمع الغواتيمالي في إطار دولة القانون، والتعايش الديمقراطي، والمراعاة التامة والدقيقة لحقوق اﻹنسان.

The latter includes the consolidation of security, full observance of human rights, and an effectively functioning justice system, which involves taking steps to consolidate peace and reduce impunity, together with the creation of strategies for integrating human rights into culture and citizenship; respect for the right to life, liberty and integrity of the person; combating discrimination; and respect for distinctive identities.
إذ يُقصد بسيادة القانون توطيد الأمن، والمراعاة التامة لحقوق الإنسان، وكفاءة عمل القضاء، مما يقتضي اتخاذ إجراءات ترمي إلى بناء السلام، والحد من ظاهرة الإفلات من العقاب، فضلاً عن استحداث استراتيجيات في مجالي الثقافة والمواطنة في إطار حقوق الإنسان، واحترام الحق في الحياة والحرية والسلامة الشخصية، ومكافحة التمييز، واحترام الهوية.

To reiterate also that the rule of international law, full respect for human rights and basic freedoms, respect for the sovereignty of States, the principle of non-intervention and strict observance of the rights and duties of States enshrined in the Charter of the Organization of American States constitute the overall framework for preventing, combating and eliminating terrorism;
