At the General Assembly’s request, the Office of Internal Oversight Services has conducted an audit of the Organization’s commercial insurance arrangements, not including the global cargo and motor vehicle policies, which were included in a 1995 review (A/51/302).

The present report has been issued pursuant to General Assembly decision 51/468 B, which called upon the Office of Internal Oversight Services, following its management audit of United Nations global cargo and motor vehicle insurance programmes (A/51/302, annex), to conduct a further similar audit, which would cover all United Nations insurance programmes.
