17. The SBSTA acknowledged the submissions from Parties and relevant organizations on potential future areas of work of the Nairobi work programme, which will be considered at its thirty-eighth session in accordance with decision 6/CP.17, paragraph 3.

Among many recommendations made by Parties and relevant organizations on the work programme of the Group of Experts (GoE) of the CST, one can often find statements that the GoE should develop and make available to all interested users appropriate mechanisms and tools to communicate and disseminate scientific knowledge on desertification and land degradation in a manner accessible to all.
