South-South cooperation is a common endeavour of peoples and countries of the South and must be pursued as an expression of South-South solidarity and a strategy for economic independence and self-reliance of the South based on their common objectives and solidarity;
(أ) يعد التعاون بين بلدان الجنوب مسعى مشتركا لشعوب وبلدان الجنوب ويجب تحقيقه بوصفه تعبيرا عن التضامن بين بلدان الجنوب واستراتيجية لتحقيق الاستقلال الاقتصادي لبلدان الجنوب ولاعتمادها على الذات استنادا إلى أهدافها المشتركة وإلى التضامن فيما بينها؛

As at previous sessions of the Committee, a number of delegations reiterated that the nature of South-South cooperation was different from that of traditional development assistance, being more a manifestation of solidarity among peoples and countries of the South, which contributed to national well-being and collective self-reliance.
8 - وعلى غرار ما حدث في دورات اللجنة السابقة، أعاد عدد من الوفود تأكيد اختلاف التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب، من حيث طبيعته، عن المساعدة الإنمائية التقليدية، فهو مظهر من مظاهر التضامن بين شعوب وبلدان الجنوب يسهم في تحقيق الرفاه على الصعيد الوطني والاعتماد على الذات جماعيا.

25. Reaffirming the Nairobi outcome document of the High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation, he said that South-South cooperation was a manifestation of solidarity among the peoples and countries of the South that contributed to their national well-being and collective self-reliance, and ultimately to the attainment of internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
25 - وأعاد التأكيد على وثيقة نيروبي الختامية لمؤتمر الأمم المتحدة الرفيع المستوى للتعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب وقال إن التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب مظهر للتضامن فيما بين شعوب وبلدان الجنوب وأنه يسهم في تحقيق رفاههم الوطني ويدعم اعتمادهم الجماعي على الذات ويُعين على تحقيق الأهداف الإنمائية المتفق عليها دوليا في نهاية المطاف بما فيها الأهداف الإنمائية للألفية.

Yet we cannot say that the results of international cooperation have been altogether positive. Countries both of the South and of the North must ponder this.
بيد أننا لا نستطيع القول إن نتائج التعاون الدولي كانت جميعها إيجابية، ويتعين على بلدان الشمال وبلدان الجنوب على السواء التمعن في ذلك.
