3. UNCTAD continued to strengthen its research and policy analysis on STI and ICTs through a number of activities, including by producing two flagship reports (Technology and Innovation Report and Information Economy Report) and by organizing a number of expert meetings.

Welcomes further the work of the Inter-Agency Committee on Women and Gender Equality, particularly its coordination and catalytic role in the area of gender mainstreaming and policy analysis and in the work programmes of the bodies of the United Nations system, and its work in compiling good practices and guidelines in the area of gender mainstreaming in the United Nations system;
5 - ترحب كذلك بما تقوم به اللجنة المشتركة بين الوكالات المعنية بالمرأة والمساواة بين الجنسين من عمل، ولا سيما دورها التنسيقي والحافز في مجال تعميم مراعاة المنظور الجنساني وتحليل السياسة العامة في برامج عمل هيئات منظومة الأمم المتحدة، وكذلك عملها في تجميع الممارسات الحسنة والمبادئ التوجيهية في مجال تعميم مراعاة المنظور الجنساني في منظومة الأمم المتحدة؛

Moving on to a consideration of the more successful regions as regards foreign direct investment, the Assistant Director, Research and policy analysis Branch, said that South, East and South-East Asia had been experiencing the fastest economic growth in the world, and continued to be the largest host developing-country region to foreign direct investment flows, accounting for 57 per cent of the developing country total in 1992.
٣ - ثم انتقل مساعد مدير فرع البحوث وتحليل السياسة العامة إلى الحديث عن اﻷقاليم اﻷكثر نجاحا فيما يتعلق بالاستثمار المباشر اﻷجنبي، فقال إن جنوب وشرق آسيا وجنوب شرقي آسيا ما برح يشهد أسرع نمو اقتصادي في العالم، وما زال يشكل أكبر إقليم من البلدان النامية المتلقية لتدفقات الاستثمار اﻷجنبي المباشر، حيث يستأثر بنسبة ٥٧ في المائة من مجموع البلدان النامية في عام ١٩٩٢.
