In the Abu Dhabi Declaration on Environment and Energy, the Arab Ministers of Energy and Ministers of Environment agreed on a broad framework of measures and programmes expressing their political will towards developing a more effective role of the energy sector in the achievement of sustainable development in the region, and emphasizing the following:
