1- تتخذ كل دولة طرف، ضمن حدود إمكانياتها، ما يلزم من تدابير لتوفير حماية فعّالة للشهود والخبراء في الإجراءات الجنائية الذين يُدْلون بشهادة تتعلق بجرائم مشمولة بهذه الاتفاقية، وكذلك لأقاربهم وسائر الأشخاص الوثيقي الصلة بهم عند الاقتضاء، من أي انتقام أو ترهيب محتمل.()

With the exception of Egypt, Kuwait, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and the Republic of Korea, all States that provided for witness protection measures under their legal system indicated that such protection extended to relatives or other persons close to the witness, in accordance with the terms of article 24, paragraph 1, of the Convention.
61- وفيما عدا باراغواي وبنما وبيرو وجمهورية كوريا والكويت ومصر، ذكرت جميع الدول التي نصّت في نظمها القانونية على تدابير لحماية الشهود أن تلك الحماية تشمل، وفقا للفقرة 1 من المادة 24 من الاتفاقية، أقارب الشهود وسائر الأشخاص الوثيقي الصلة بهم.

Although it is noted that, in practice, Cuba has not so far needed to take measures to protect witnesses or experts, it would be desirable to provide for additional measures to protect witnesses and experts who give testimony concerning corruption offences and to their relatives and other persons close to them (art. 32, paras. 1 and 2).
وعلى الرغم من أنَّ من الملاحظ أنَّ كوبا لم تضطر حتى الآن، من الناحية العملية، إلى اتخاذ تدابير لحماية الشهود أو الخبراء، فإنَّ من المستصوب النص على تدابير إضافية لحماية الشهود والخبراء الذين يدلون بشهادة تتعلق بجرائم الفساد وحماية أقاربهم وسائر الأشخاص الوثيقي الصلة بهم (المادة 32، الفقرتان 1 و2).
