In resolution 1996/34, the Economic and Social Council endorsed the revised system-wide medium-term plan for the advancement of women, 1996-2001, and requested the Secretary-General to submit to it, through the Commission on the Status of Women at its forty-second session, a progress report on the implementation of the revised plan.
٩ - وقد أيد المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، بالقرار ١٩٩٦/٣٤، الخطة المتوسطة اﻷجل المنقحة على نطاق المنظومة للنهوض بالمرأة للفترة ١٩٩٦-٢٠٠١، وطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إليه، عن طريق لجنة مركز المرأة في دورتها الثانية واﻷربعين، تقريرا مرحليا عن تنفيذ الخطة المنقحة.

The Board noted the progress in developing the technical cooperation strategy and requested the Secretary-General of UNCTAD to continue his consultations with a view to enabling the Board to adopt the strategy formally at its fifteenth executive session in June 1997.

17. In deciding in its resolution 830 (1993) of 26 May 1993 to renew the mandate of UNDOF for a further period of six months, the Security Council also called upon the parties concerned to implement immediately its resolution 338 (1973) and requested the Secretary-General to submit, at the end of the period, a report on the developments in the situation and the measures taken to implement that resolution.

وقام المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي دوريا بتمديد برنامج المساعدة التي تقدمها اﻷمم المتحدة الى زامبيا حتى عام ١٩٨٠؛ وطلب الى اﻷمم المتحدة ومؤسساتها ووكالاتها المتخصصة بذل كل جهد لمساعدة زامبيا؛ وطلب الى اﻷمين العام إبقاء الحالة قيد الاستعراض المستمر وإجراء مشاورات مع جميع اﻷطراف المعنية وكفالة تنسيق برنامج تقديم المساعدة الى زامبيا.

شجع المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي الدول اﻷعضاء ، في قراره ٧٩٩١/٨٢ بشأن تنظيم تداول اﻷسلحة بغرض منع الجريمة وحماية الصحة والسلامة العامة ، على أن تنظر في اتباع نهوج لتنظيم استخدام المدنيين لﻷسلحة النارية ، وطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل جمع البيانات ونشر المعلومات عن تنظيم تداول اﻷسلحة النارية .
