3. In paragraph 4 of the same section of its resolution 63/248, the General Assembly noted with satisfaction that the Secretariat had taken into account the arrangements referred to in its previous resolutions concerning Orthodox Good Friday and the official holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
3 - وفي الفقرة 4 من نفس الجزء من قرارها 63/248، لاحظت الجمعية العامة مع الارتياح أن الأمانة العامة أخذت في الاعتبار الترتيبات التي أشارت إليها الجمعية في دوراتها السابقة فيما يتعلق بيوم الجمعة العظيمة للطوائف الأرثوذكسية، وعطلتي عيد الفطر وعيد الأضحى الرسميتين.

5. Also requests the Secretary-General to include in the list of official holidays of the United Nations Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha;
٥ - تطلب أيضا إلى اﻷمين العام أن يدرج عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى في قائمة العطلات الرسمية لﻷمم المتحدة؛

Accordingly, the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha shall be observed as official holidays of the United Nations at Headquarters, and at other duty stations, where applicable, and United Nations buildings at those locations shall be closed to the public on those days.
وبناء على ذلك، ستراعى عطلتا عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى بوصفهما عطلتين رسميتين لﻷمم المتحدة في المقر وفي مراكز العمل اﻷخرى، حيثما اقتضى اﻷمر، وستغلق مباني اﻷمم المتحدة في تلك اﻷماكن أمام الجمهور في هذين اليومين.

However, the General Assembly had already decided in its resolution 52/214 A that the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha should be observed as official holidays of the United Nations.
غير أنه أضاف أن الجمعية العامة قررت في قرارها ٥٢/٢١٤ ألف أن تراعى عطلتا عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى بوصفهما عطلتين رسميتين لﻷمم المتحدة.

His delegation did not find it acceptable that the decision on holidays should be left to the staff, since everyone should celebrate the Islamic holidays in the same way as they celebrated Christmas, for example, because it was an international holiday. Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha should also be considered official international holidays, especially given the fact that there were 45 Islamic countries at the United Nations.
وأعلن أن ترك أمر اختيار العطلات للموظفين أمر غير مقبول من وفد بلده، ﻷن الجميع يجب أن يحتفلوا باﻷعياد اﻹسلامية، كما يحتفلون بعيد ميلاد المسيح، على سبيل المثال، ﻷنه عيد دولي، كذلك يجب اعتبار عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى عطلتين رسميتين دوليتين، لا سيما وأن عدد الدول اﻹسلامية في اﻷمم المتحدة يبلغ ٥٤ دولة.

It may be recalled that OIC consists of 51 States Members of the United Nations, and there is a strong feeling among the members of OIC that the designation of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha as official holidays of the United Nations would attribute the reverence that is due to these important religious occasions.
ومما يذكر أن منظمة المؤتمر الاسلامي تضم ٥١ دولة من الدول اﻷعضاء في اﻷمم المتحدة، ولدى هذه الدول إحساس قوي بأن إعلان عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى عيدين رسميين لﻷمم المتحدة من شأنه أن يفي هاتين المناسبتين الدينيتين الهامتين حقهما من الاجلال والاحترام.

54. Mr. Sulaiman (Syrian Arab Republic) said that his delegation supported the statements made by the two previous speakers on the subject of the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha.

55. Mr. Odaga-Jalomayo (Uganda) said that, as a member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Uganda shared the concerns of other delegations with regard to the observance of the holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha.

The draft text was based on the firm belief of the 132 States members of the Group of 77 and China that Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha should be fully observed as official United Nations holidays in compliance with Assembly resolution 52/214 A. He therefore hoped that the text could be adopted by consensus.
وأضاف قائلا إن مشروع النص يستند الى اﻹيمان الراسخ لدى كل من الدول اﻟ ١٣٢ اﻷعضاء في مجموعة اﻟ ٧٧ والصين بوجوب الالتزام الكامل بكل من عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى كعطلتين من العطلات الرسمية لﻷمم المتحدة امتثالا لقرار الجمعية ٥٢/٢١٤ ألف. وأعرب لذلك عن أمله في أن يعتمد النص بتوافق اﻵراء.

56. Mr. Sulaiman (Syrian Arab Republic) welcomed the adoption of the draft decision making it possible to observe the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha and thanked the States that had voted in favour of it.

30. In conclusion, his delegation was pleased to note from paragraph 8 of the report of the Committee on Conferences that the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha would be observed in future as official holidays at Headquarters and hoped that it would no longer be necessary for delegations to raise that matter.
٣٠ - وأنهى كلامه باﻹعراب عن سرور وفده بما ورد في الفقرة ٨ من تقرير لجنة المؤتمرات ومؤداه أنه ستجري مراعاة عطلتي عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى بوصفهما عطلتين رسميتين مستقبلا، وعن أمله في ألا تكون هناك حاجة إلى أن تثير الوفود هذه المسألة مرة أخرى.

5. Decides that henceforth the two holidays of Id al-Fitr and Id al-Adha shall be observed as official holidays of the United Nations at Headquarters, and at other duty stations where applicable, and that United Nations buildings at those locations shall be closed to the public on those days;
٥ - تقرر أن تراعى من اﻵن فصاعدا عطلتا عيد الفطر وعيد اﻷضحى بوصفهما من العطلات الرسمية لﻷمم المتحدة في المقر وفي مراكز العمل اﻷخرى، حيثما اقتضى اﻷمر، وأن تغلق مباني اﻷمم المتحدة في تلك اﻷماكن أمام الجمهور في هذين اليومين؛

All national and religious celebrations or holidays, such as Nowruz, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, have been reinstated.
وأُعيد الاحتفال بالأعياد الشعبية والدينية مثل النوروز وعيد الفطر ( " رضا خاييت " ) وعيد الأضحى ( " قربان خاييت " ).

5. It should be noted that, in drafting the revised calendar, the Secretariat has taken into account the arrangements referred to in section I, paragraph 4, of resolution 68/251 concerning Orthodox Good Friday and the official holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
٥ - وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن الأمانة العامة راعت، لدى صياغة الجدول المنقح، الترتيبات المشار إليها في الفقرة 4 من الجزء الأول من القرار 68/251 فيما يتعلق بيوم الجمعة العظيمة للطائفة الأرثوذكسية وعطلتي عيد الفطر وعيد الأضحى الرسميتين.

وأصبحت أيام الاحتفال بعيد الفطر ( " رُضا خاييت " ) وعيد الأضحى ( " قربان خاييت " ) أيام عطلات رسمية بموجب مرسوم صادر عن رئيس جمهورية أوزبكستان.
