In its presidential statement adopted in connection with the open debate on " Women's participation and role in conflict prevention and mediation " (S/PRST/2011/20), the Security Council, inter alia, encouraged Member States and international and regional organizations to take measures to increase the numbers of women involved in mediation efforts and in representative roles in regional and international organizations.
