4. Acting in the spirit of this Protocol and with a view to creating the necessary conditions for conducting further negotiations, the parties have agreed to extend the period of validity of the Agreement on a Temporary Cease-Fire and the Cessation of Other Hostilities on the Tajik-Afghan Border and within the country for the next six months until 26 February 1996.
٤ - عملا بروح هذا البروتوكول ورغبة في تهيئة الظروف اللازمة لمواصلة المحادثات، اتفقت اﻷطراف على تمديد فترة سريان اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار والوقف المؤقت لﻷعمال القتالية على الحدود الطاجيكية اﻷفغانية وفي داخل البلاد لفترة ست أشهر، تنتهي في ٢٦ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٦.

9. I believe that the signing of the Agreement on a Temporary Cease-fire and the Cessation of Other Hostile Acts on the Tajik-Afghan Border and within the country for the Duration of the Talks is an important step towards national reconciliation and the restoration of peace in Tajikistan.
٩ - في رأيي أن توقيع الاتفاق الخاص بوقف اطلاق النار وغيره من اﻷعمال القتالية مؤقتا على الحدود الطاجيكية - اﻷفغانية وفي داخل البلاد خلال فترة المحادثات، هو خطوة هامة صوب تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية وإعادة السلم إلى طاجيكستان.

5. It will be recalled that the Agreement on a Temporary Cease-Fire and the Cessation of Other Hostile Acts on the Tajik-Afghan Border and within the country for the Duration of the Talks (S/1994/1102, annex I), signed at Tehran on 17 September 1994, prohibits the redeployment of military formations in Tajikistan.
٥ - ومما يذكر أن الاتفاق بشأن وقف إطلاق النار وغيره من اﻷعمال العدائية مؤقتا على الحدود الطاجيكية - اﻷفغانية وفي داخل البلاد خلال فترة المحادثات S/1994/1102)، المرفق(، وهو الاتفاق الموقع في طهران بتاريخ ١٧ أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٤، يحظر وزع تشكيلات عسكرية في طاجيكستان.

The Parties have agreed to a temporary cease-fire and the cessation of other hostile acts on the Tajik-Afghan border and within the country until the referendum on the draft of the new constitution and the election of the president of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the understanding that this is only a first step towards the achievement of national harmony and the settlement of all issues included in the agenda of the talks.
٣ - وقد تعاهد الطرفان على الاتفاق على وقف مؤقت ﻹطلاق النار وغيره من اﻷعمال القتالية على الحدود الطاجيكية - اﻷفغانية وفي داخل البلاد إلى أن يتم إجراء الاستفتاء على مشروع الدستور الجديد وانتخاب رئيس لجمهورية طاجيكستان، على أساس أن هذا الاتفاق يشكل خطوة أولى نحو التوصل إلى التوافق الوطني وحل جميع المسائل المدرجة على جدول أعمال المحادثات.

4. Following two rounds of inter-Tajik talks, high-level consultations were held in Tehran in September 1994, which enabled the Tajik parties to sign the agreement on a temporary cease-fire and the cessation of other hostile acts on the Tajik border and within the country for the duration of the talks (hereinafter referred to as " the agreement " ). 1/
٤ - وبعد جولتين من المحادثات بين الطرفين الطاجيكيين، عقدت مشاورات رفيعة المستوى في طهران في أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٤، مكنت الطرفين الطاجيكيين من توقيع الاتفاق بشأن وقف اطلاق النار وغيره من اﻷعمال العدائية مؤقتا على الحدود الطاجيكية وفي داخل البلاد خلال فترة المحادثات )والمشار اليه من اﻵن فصاعدا بالاتفاق()١(.
