On this point the Working Group noted with interest that, owing to the international dimension of these crimes and their extreme gravity, several international instruments, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, limit - again, with a view to the proper administration of justice - some of the rules protecting an accused person in order to prevent the abuse of these rules to abet impunity for international crimes.
