8 At the time of the second session, one expert meeting on harmonizing definitions had been held, in Rome, in January 2002, jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Centre for International Forestry Research, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations and the United Nations Environment Programme.
