1. The present report responds to Governing Council decision 92/2 and to Executive Board decision 93/32, inviting the Administrator to outline his plans for the future of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).

In line with the Executive Board decision 2007/29, the report also contains an analysis of the key and recurrent management issues, the outcome of the risk-based audit planning, and the results of the OAI review of audit reports on projects executed by non-governmental organizations and/or national governments.

The Executive Board took note of the report of the Administrator on assistance to Myanmar contained in document DP/1998/11 and decided to consider, at its annual session 1998, a proposal for future UNDP assistance to Myanmar in conformity with Governing Council decision 93/21 and Executive Board decision 96/1.
