13. He was most encouraged by the endorsement given by the Board to the theme and sub-themes for the Conference.

At its forty-ninth session, the Commission decided to hold a thematic debate at its fiftieth session and agreed that the theme and subthemes of the thematic debate would be identified at the intersessional meetings of the Commission.

The Group feels that it should be a part of the theme and sub-themes decided for UNCTAD - XIII and included for the preparatory process and the conference.
وترى المجموعة أنه ينبغي إدراجها في إطار موضوع المؤتمر الثالث عشر للأونكتاد ومواضيعه الفرعية وأن تشملها الأعمال التحضيرية وأعمال المؤتمر.

A series of hearings with civil society, parliamentarians and the private sector were also held to allow for inputs and contributions by civil society organizations to the theme and sub-themes of the Conference.
