18. The Committee adopted a draft decision (A/AC.241/WG.I(VII)/L.6), submitted by the Chairman of Working Group I, entitled " Designation of a permanent secretariat and arrangements for its functioning " (see appendix II, decision 7/6).
١٨ - اعتمدت اللجنة مشروع مقرر )A/AC.241/WG.I (VII)/L.6( قدمه رئيس الفريق العامل اﻷول، عنوانه " تعيين أمانة دائمة ووضع ترتيبات ﻷداء عملها " )انظر التذييل الثاني، المقرر ٧/٦(.

The Committee had before it a draft decision (A/AC.241/WG.I(VII)/L.1), submitted by Uganda on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China, entitled " Designation of a permanent secretariat and arrangements for its functioning " . (For consideration of the draft decision, see appendix II, decision 7/6.)

(b) To make recommendations for the designation by the Conference of the Parties of a permanent Secretariat and arrangements for its functioning: Article 23, paragraph 3, of the Convention provides that " the Conference of the Parties, at its first session, shall designate a Permanent Secretariat and make arrangements for its functioning " .
