In that regard, my delegation hopes that all elements of the embargo imposed by the United States against Cuba will be lifted and that the international community's voice, as expressed by the General Assembly and other bodies, will be heeded and complied with by the United States.

In the same context of promoting peace, my delegation hopes that the talks between Israel and Syria will continue, in a spirit of flexibility and realism, so that agreements that both parties find reasonable can be reached, with a view to consolidating the peace process that began in October 1991 in Madrid.
وفي نفس السياق الخاص بتعزيز السلم، يأمل وفد بلادي أن تستمر المحادثات بين اسرائيل وسوريا بروح من المرونة والواقعية حتى يمكن التوصل الى اتفاقات يعتبرها الطرفان معقولة، بغية تعزيز عملية السلام التي بدأت في تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩١ في مدريد.

On the Korean peninsula, the region from which you come, my delegation hopes that the process of reconciliation now under way will experience further progress, in accordance with General Assembly resolution 55/11, thanks to autonomous and strengthened inter-Korean dialogue, and especially the holding of a second summit in the near future.
وفيما يتعلق بشبه الجزيرة الكورية، وهي المنطقة التي تنتمون إليها، سيدي، يأمل وفد بلادي في أن تشهد عملية المصالحة الجارية حاليا مزيدا من التقدم، وفقا لقرار الجمعية العامة 55/11، بفضل الحوار المستقل والمعزز بين شطري كوريا، وبخاصة من خلال مؤتمر القمة الثاني الذي سينعقد في المستقبل القريب.

In view of all this, my delegation hopes that the General Assembly will review the Secretary-General's next report called for in paragraph 16 (a) of the resolution -perhaps the last such report - in the same spirit of understanding as it has on previous occasions.
