10. Mr. Yacoubou (Benin) noted that 161 States were parties to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and that, despite the reservations entered by 54 of those States, the Convention was almost universal.

20. Ms. Yakubu (Nigeria) explained that unity schools were secondary schools to which pupils from various states could be admitted and that federal secondary schools provided additional capacity to increase the overall enrolment of girls.
