4. The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, at its sixth session, held at Vienna from 28 April to 9 May 1997, was informed of the continuing efforts of the Institute to contribute to crime prevention and criminal justice reform in the African countries.
٤ - وقد أبلغت لجنة منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية، في دورتها السادسة المعقودة بفيينا في الفترة من ٢٨ نيسان/أبريل إلى ٩ أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٧، بالجهود المتواصلة التي يبذلها المعهد من أجل اﻹسهام في إصلاح نظم منع الجريمة والعدالة الجنائية في البلدان اﻷفريقية.

5. Notes the efforts of the Institute to establish contacts with organizations in those countries which are promoting crime prevention programmes and its maintenance of close links with regional and subregional political entities such as the Commission of the African Union, the East African Community, the Economic Commission of West African States, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development and the Southern African Development Community;
