Training/Dissemination of the Convention 539. The Committee welcomes the translation of the Implementation Handbook for the Convention on the Rights of the Child into the Lithuanian language and acknowledges the efforts of the State party in training professionals working with and for children.

21. The Committee is concerned that the general level of awareness and knowledge of the Convention is inadequate among professionals working with and for children.

The Committee is concerned that insufficient training on the Convention, particularly on key principles of the Convention such as the best interests of the child and the views of the child to be heard, has been provided to public officials and professionals working with and for children.
20- تعرب اللجنة عن قلقها من عدم تلقي الموظفين العموميين والمهنيين الذين يعملون مع الأطفال ولصالحهم التدريب الكافي على الاتفاقية، ولا سيما على المبادئ الأساسية للاتفاقية مثل مصالح الطفل الفضلى والاستماع إلى آراء الطفل.

The Committee is concerned at the low level of awareness and knowledge of the Convention among professionals working with and for children, as well as among the general public, including children, largely due to the fact that the Convention is not available in local languages or in versions accessible to all and in child-friendly versions.
24- تشعر اللجنة بالقلق إزاء ضعف مستوى الوعي بالاتفاقية ومعرفتها لدى المهنيين الذين يعملون مع الأطفال ولصالحهم وكذلك لدى عامة الجماهير، بمن فيهم الأطفال، ومرد ذلك إلى حد كبير أن الاتفاقية ليست متاحة باللغات المحلية أو في نسخ يتسنى للجميع الحصول عليها ونسخ تلائم مستوى إدراك الأطفال.

(c) Sensitize professionals working with and for children and the public in general on the prohibition of gender discrimination as provided in the Constitution and Children's Law, and undertake educational programmes, including campaigns that promote equality;

The Committee also recommends that the State party continue its efforts to provide adequate and systematic training and/or sensitization on children's rights of professional groups working with and for children such as judges, lawyers, law enforcement officials, civil servants, local government officials, teachers, social workers, health personnel and especially children themselves.
