2. It was not, however, until the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its Optional Protocol in 2006 that the specific barriers facing persons with disabilities in realizing their human rights were directly addressed through an international legal instrument.
٢ - إلاّ أن العقبات المحدَّدة التي يواجهها الأشخاص ذوو الإعاقة في إعمال حقوق الإنسان الواجبة لهم لم تُذلَّل بصورة مباشرة من خلال صك قانوني دولي إلاّ بعد اعتماد اتفاقية حقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة والبروتوكول الاختياري الملحق بها في عام 2006.
