2. At its fifty-first session, the General Assembly adopted resolution 51/202 of 17 December 1996, in which, inter alia, it requested the Secretary-General to report at its fifty-second session on the implementation of the outcome of the Summit. It will be recalled that the Secretary-General submitted a report on the subject to the Assembly at its fifty-first session (A/51/348).
