Article 54: a term of up to 5 years' imprisonment shall be imposed on any person who:

وتكون العقوبة السجن مدة لا تزيد على عشر سنين إذا كان من وقعت عليه الجريمة دون الخامسة عشرة سنة كاملة من العمر.

In the case of an abortion performed without the woman's consent, the penalty may be doubled to imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
وقد تتضاعف العقوبة في حالة الإجهاض اللارضائي، فتكون العقوبة الحبس مدة لا تزيد عن عشر سنوات.

If the victim was under 18 years of age, the penalty shall be a term of up to 7 years' imprisonment and/or a fine of up to 7,000 rupees”.
فإذا كانت سن المجني عليه تقل عن الثامنة عشرة، كانت العقوبة مدة لا تتجاوز سبع سنوات والغرامة التي لا تتجاوز سبعة آلاف روبية أو إحدى هاتين العقوبتين.

Article 160: Any person who batters, injures, grievously harms or physically assaults another person shall be subject to a term of up to 2 years' imprisonment and/or a fine of up to 500 dinars;
المادة 160: كل من ضرب شخصاً أو جرحه أو ألحق بجسمه أذى أو أخل بحرمة الجسم وكان ذلك على نحو محسوس يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تجاوز سنتين وبغرامة لا تجاوز مائة وخمسين ديناراً أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين؛

" Any person sentenced to confinement who absconds from a correctional home shall be liable to detention for a term of up to 1 year or to a fine of not less than 100 dinars and shall then be returned to the home to complete the period of confinement.
كل شخص صدر عليه حكم بالحجز وهرب من دور الإصلاح يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تزيد على سنة واحدة أو بغرامة لا تقل عن مائة دينار ثم يعاد إلى الدار لإكمال مدة حجزه.

" Anyone who himself or by means of a third party kidnaps a young person under 18 years of age without the use of force or deception shall be liable to imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years if the person kidnapped is female or imprisonment for up to 10 years if the person kidnapped is male.
من خطف بنفسه أو بواسطة غيره بغير إكراه أو حيلة حدثاً لم يتم الثامنة عشرة من العمر يعاقب بالسجن مدة لا تزيد على خمس عشرة سنة إذا كان المخطوف أنثى أو بالسجن مدة لا تزيد على عشر سنين إذا كان ذكراً.

" If the kidnapping is carried out with the use of force or deception or if any of the aggravating circumstances set out in article 421 obtain, the penalty shall be imprisonment if the person kidnapped is female and imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years if the person is male.
وإذا وقع الخطف بطريق الإكراه أو الحيلة أو توافرت فيه أحد ظروف التشديد المبينة في المادة 421 تكون العقوبة السجن إذا كان المخطوف أنثى والسجن مدة لا تزيد على خمس عشرة سنة إذا كان ذكراً.

" a term of up to 5 years' imprisonment shall be imposed on any person who entices, encourages or helps a male or female below the age of 18 to leave the family home in order to engage in acts of indecency, debauchery or prostitution. "
يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تزيد على خمس سنوات كل من أغرى أو شجع أو ساعد طفلاً لم يتم الثامنة عشرة من عمره ذكراً كان أو أنثى على هجر منزل والديه بقصد ممارسة أعمال البغاء أو الفجور أو الدعارة.

" a term of up to 3 years' imprisonment shall be imposed on a parent who knowingly hands over his or her child below 18 years of age for the purpose of the child's exploitation in begging.
يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تزيد على ثلاث سنوات الوالد الذي يسلم طفله الذي لم يتم الثامنة عشرة من عمره إلى آخر ليستغله في التسول مع علمه بذلك.

The penalty shall be a term of up to 5 years' imprisonment, if the child handed over is below 10 years of age or has a mental or physical impairment. "
وتكون العقوبة الحبس مدة لا تزيد على خمس سنوات إذا كان من وقع عليه التسليم لم يتم العاشرة من عمره، أو كان ذا عاهة نفسية أو جسدية.

The penalty shall be a term of up to three years' imprisonment if the offender is a public official who held confidential information during, on account of or in connection with the performance of his office. "
وتكون العقوبة الحبس مدة لا تزيد على ثلاث سنوات إذا كان الجاني موظفاً عاماً استودع السر أثناء أو بسبب أو بمناسبة تأدية وظيفته.

If the abduction is accompanied or followed by bodily harm, assault or torture, the penalty is a term of up to 10 years' imprisonment without prejudice to the right to retribution, blood money or compensation, as appropriate, if such is warranted by the harm caused.
وإذا صاحب الخطف أو تلاه إيذاء أو اعتداء أو تعذيب كانت العقوبة الحبس مدة لا تزيد على عشر سنوات كاملة، ودون إخلال بالقصاص أو الدية أو اﻹرش على حسب اﻷحوال إذا ترتب على اﻹيذاء ما يقتضي ذلك.

a term of up to three months' imprisonment shall be imposed on anyone who conceals a minor whom he or she has been ordered to surrender to a person or institution pursuant to this Act, or who induces a child to run away or assists him or her in doing so.
يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تزيد عن ثلاثة أشهر من أخفي حدثا حكم بتسليمه لشخص أو جهة طبقا لأحكام هذا القانون أو دفعه للفرار أو ساعد على ذلك.

If the victim of the abduction is a female, a juvenile, insane or feeble—minded, or if the abduction is effected through the use of force, threats or deception, the penalty is a term of up to seven years' imprisonment.
أما إذا وقع الخطف على أنثى أو حدث أو مجنون أو معتوه، أو كان الخطف بالقوة أو التهديد أو الحيلة، كانت العقوبة مدة لا تزيد عن سبع سنوات.

If the criminal act is confined to impairment of the functioning of a limb or sense, but the form thereof remains intact, or if retribution is prohibited or abated, without the assailant having been given a free pardon, the penalty shall be payment of bloody money (diya) or indemnity for bodily injury (arsh) and a term of up to seven years' imprisonment.
فإذا اقتصر فعل الجاني على إذهاب معنى طرف أو حاسة مع بقاء الصورة أو إذا امتنع القصاص أو سقط بغير العفو بالمجان، عوقب بالدية أو الأرش والحبس مدة لا تزيد عن سبع سنوات.

If the victim sustains a permanent disability as a result of being tortured, the perpetrator shall be liable to a term of up to 10 years' imprisonment.
وإذا ترتب على التعذيب إصابة المجني عليه بعاهة مستديمة عوقب الجاني بالحبس مدة لا تتجاوز عشر سنوات.

This article prescribes a penalty for this offence -- a term of up to 5 years' imprisonment -- that is intended to serve as a deterrent.
كما تنص المادة المذكورة على توقيع عقوبة رادعة لمن يقـوم بمثل هذه الأفعـال، قد تصل إلى الحبس مدة لا تتجاوز خمس سنوات.
