Upon instructions from my Government and with reference to the letter of the representative of the Israeli regime addressed to you on 19 June 2007 (circulated as document A/61/961), containing certain baseless allegations and distortions about the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, I wish to state the following.

8. The Special Committee, therefore, carried out a mission to Egypt from 8 to 11 June 2010, Jordan from 11 to 16 June 2010, and the Syrian Arab Republic from 16 to 19 June 2010, where it heard the testimony of 43 witnesses about the situation of human rights in the occupied territories.
8 - ولذلك، قامت اللجنة الخاصة ببعثة إلى مصر في الفترة من 8 إلى 11 حزيران/يونيه 2010، وإلى الأردن في الفترة من 11 إلى 16 حزيران/يونيه 2010، وإلى الجمهورية العربية السورية في الفترة من 16 إلى 19 حزيران/يونيه 2010، حيث استمعت إلى إفادات 43 شاهدا بشأن حالة حقوق الإنسان في الأراضي المحتلة.

71. Ms. Zack (United States of America) said that her delegation had voted in favour of the draft resolution, as a demonstration of its continued concern about the situation of human rights in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its wish to see the situation resolved as soon as possible.

8 - ونظراً إلى عدم تمكن اللجنة الخاصة من زيارة الأراضي المحتلة منذ إنشائها في عام 1968، فقد قامت ببعثة إلى مصر في الفترة من 3 إلى 7 آب/أغسطس 2009، والأردن في الفترة من 7 إلى 11 آب/أغسطس 2008، والجمهورية العربية السورية في الفترة من 11 إلى 13 آب/أغسطس 2009، حيث استمعت إلى إفادات 33 شاهداً بشأن حالة حقوق الإنسان في الأراضي المحتلة.

32. Austria expressed concern about the situation of human rights in the country, noting the report of commission of inquiry, which substantiated that violations in many instances constituted crimes against humanity, and about non-cooperation with United Nations mechanisms.
32- وأعربت النمسا عن قلقها إزاء حالة حقوق الإنسان في البلد، مشيرةً إلى تقرير لجنة التحقيق الذي أثبت بالبراهين أن الانتهاكات في حالات كثيرة شكّلت جرائم ضد الإنسانية، وأعربت عن قلقها إزاء عدم التعاون مع آليات الأمم المتحدة.
