At its forty-ninth session, the General Assembly adopted resolution 49/205 dated 23 December 1994 entitled " Rape and abuse of women in the areas of armed conflict in the former Yugoslavia " , in which it strongly condemned the continuing abhorrent practice of rape and abuse of women and children in the former Yugoslavia.
١ - اعتمدت الجمعية العامة، في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين، القرار ٩٤/٢٠٥ المؤرخ ٢٣ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٤ المعنون " اغتصاب النساء وامتهانهن في مناطق النزاع المسلح في يوغوسلافيا السابقة " ، أدانت فيه بقوة استمرار الممارسة البشعة المتمثلة في اغتصاب النساء واﻷطفال وامتهانهم في يوغوسلافيا السابقة.

37 - وأبرزت الادعاءات التي ترددت مؤخرا عن تعرض النساء والأطفال للاستغلال والاعتداء الجنسيين على أيدي العاملين في مجالي الخدمات الإنسانية وحفظ السلام في غرب أفريقيا ضعف اللاجئين والمشردين داخليا وغيرهم، لا سيما النساء والفتيات.
