4. Special measures aimed at accelerating de facto equality of persons with disabilities shall not be considered discrimination as defined in the present Convention, but shall in no way entail as a consequence the maintenance of unequal or separate standards; those measures shall be discontinued when the objectives of equality of opportunity and treatment have been achieved.
4 - لا تعتبر التدابير الخاصة التي تهدف إلى التعجيل بتحقيق المساواة الفعلية للمعوقين تمييزا على النحو المعرَّف في هذه الاتفاقية، لكن يتعين ألا يترتب عليها بأي حال من الأحوال استمرار تطبيق معايير متفاوتة أو منفصلة؛ وتوقف تلك التدابير عند تحقيق أهداف التكافؤ في الفرص والمعاملة.

4. Following an extensive discussion of paragraph 5 of draft article 7, there was general agreement that the words " measures aimed at accelerating de facto equality of persons with disabilities shall not be considered discrimination " should remain in the text.

62. The Committee expresses concern at the fact that paragraph 1 of article 4 of the Convention, which advocates the adoption of temporary special measures aimed at accelerating de facto equality between women and men, has not been used to eliminate the inequality between women and men, particularly in the context of the integration of women into politics and employment and with regard to assistance for displaced and refugee women.
٢٦ - وتعرب اللجنة عن قلقها ﻷن الفقرة ١ من المادة ٤ من الاتفاقية التي تدعو إلى اتخاذ خاصة مؤقتة ترمي إلى التعجيل بتحقيق المساواة مـن حيــث الواقع بيـن الرجـل والمرأة، لم تستعمل للقضاء على عدم المساواة بين المرأة والرجل وخاصة في سياق إدماج النساء في العمل السياسي والعمالة، وفيما يتعلق بتقديم المساعدة الى المشردات واللاجئات.
