At its 1st meeting, on 6 May, the Co-Chair invited the Secretariat to introduce the document on suggested arrangement for accreditation and participation in the preparatory process and in the World Conference on Disaster Reduction of relevant Non-Governmental Organizations and other Major Groups.

The General Assembly, in the same resolution, decided that the accreditation and participation to the World Conference on Disaster Reduction of major groups will be in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Commission on Sustainable Development, the rules of procedure of the World Summit on Sustainable Development and the established practice of the Commission on the participation and engagement of major groups (paragraph 16).
9- وقررت الجمعية العامة، في نفس القرار، أن يكون اعتماد ومشاركة المجموعات الرئيسية في المؤتمر العالمي للحد من الكوارث وفقاً للنظام الداخلي للجنة التنمية المستدامة، والنظام الداخلي لمؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية المستدامة والممارسة المتبعة في اللجنة فيما يتعلق بمشاركة وإشراك المجموعات الرئيسية (الفقرة 16).
