وبالمثل، إذا حرم المتهمون الأحداث من حريتهم طبقا للقانون، وجب فصلهم عن البالغين ويكون من حقهم أن يفصل في قضيتهم بأسرع ما يمكن؛ ويخضع الأحداث الجانحون المدانون بدورهم لنظام سجن يتضمن فصلهم عن البالغين ويناسب سنهم ووضعهم القانوني، وذلك بهدف تسهيل إصلاحهم وإعادة تأهيلهم اجتماعيا.
